Your diagnostic experience should be clear and stress-free. Find answers to common questions about safety, results, and scan procedures below.

What is a Cone Beam CT (CBCT) scan?

CBCT is an advanced imaging modality for dental patients which produces 3-D images of your teeth and jaws. CBCT offers highly accurate and precise imaging when compared to conventional radiographs.

How long will my appointment take?

A single CBCT scan takes around 12–28 seconds. The total appointment time—including registration, positioning, and scanning—is about 15 minutes.

How and when will my doctor get the results?

Reports are emailed to you and your doctor in less than 24 hours. Hard copies and CDs can be collected from the centre after giving us a call 2 hours prior to your arrival.

Are these imaging procedures safe?

Dental imaging involves very small doses of radiation. We use lead shielding of walls, lead aprons, and strict equipment maintenance to minimize exposure.

CBCT is a 3D imaging modality, while general dental X-rays are 2D. This allows your doctor to view anatomic structures in exact dimensions with precision up to 0.01mm.

You will be positioned on the machine with a headband and chin rest to avoid movement. The machine moves around your head in a circle but never touches your body.

Our airway evaluation includes volume and dimensional analysis to support orthodontic planning and the assessment of breathing disorders.

Before Your Appointment

  • Remove all facial jewelry (nose rings, earrings, chains) to ensure scan clarity.
  • If you wear removable dentures, you will be requested to remove them for the procedure.
  • No fasting is required for dental scans.
